Games are a Rip-Off By Andy on Monday, September 30, 2002 | This is mainly for our European readers, but people from the rest of the world may be interested. How many of you spend hundreds on games every year? No matter how much you enjoy playing games you're being ripped off with the high prices. Check out the Fairplay Campaign website to see how you can help campaign for cheaper games. I'm happy to pay the current retail prices for a good Nintendo game, but really... we shouldn't have to.

Starfox Adventures By Andy on Sunday, September 29, 2002 | Thanks once again to MS reader 'Nin10do Dude' we've got a screenshot of the Starfox Adventures credits for the Miyamoto Credits section. For anyone who dosn't own SF Adventures I recommend you buy it ASAP, it's a fabulous game which will keep you busy until GC Zelda arrives.

The Q By Andy on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 | In light of todays events we have a new Question. What would you do if Mr. Miyamoto died? Submit your answers here.

Mr. Miyamoto is Alive By Andy on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 | About the death rumours: They're not on AP-Wire, Mr. Miyamoto's house is in Kyoto, you cannot setup a charity in half a day, Mr. Miyamoto has never had heart problems. I should have seen this sooner, whoever made this up should be ashamed.
I'd like to apologise to everyone who was upset or shocked by this news story, in future we will never post anything like this unless we're absolutley certain that it is genuine.

New Panasonic Q By Andy on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 | Panasonic have just announced a new model of the Panasonic Q Gamecube DVD player is to be released next summer in Japan. No US or European release was announced nor were any specifics about what will be changed in the redesign. The question is: can Panasonic make the Q look even better?

New Pics By Andy on Monday, September 23, 2002 | Look: Content! A few new photos of Mr. Miyamoto have been added to the Miyamoto Gallery. Also, a new quiz will be ready by the end of this week, if I can find some decent questions.

Big Announcement Soon By Andy on Sunday, September 22, 2002 | Our very reliable friends at New Technix have translated some very interesting information from Japanese Magazine 'V-Jump'. Here's the rough translation:
"An article published in the last number of V-Jump to celebrate the first anniversary of the exit of GameCube announces that one very very large draft report with Nintendo should be revealed at the end of the year, GameCube will know a "Boom". Such an exaggeration on behalf of the magazine is unusual, this completely unknown project for the moment is thus announced significant. To follow."
What could this announcement be? lets hope it makes up for the huge loss of Rare.

Droubt By Andy on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 | There really hasnt been much going on this past month but hopefully things will change with cooler weather and longer nights approaching, the time when gaming is in full swing.
Hopefully we'll have a interview with Charles Martinet to post in a few days, which should be a very interesting read. Also, the word is Zelda's been delayed well into next year. If we're lucky this information will turn out true - the last thing we need is a rushed Zelda after the rushed Mario, Pikmin and Luigi.

'Forest Released! By Andy on Sunday, September 15, 2002 | Animal Crossing is released in the USA tommorrow! I urge all of you to go out an buy it, it's a very fun and original game. As you can see we're all a bit mad about this game:
Apparantly Mr. Miyamoto has said he has an online game in development that is not part of the fantasy genre, I'll see if I can find some exact quotes for a later update.

Keep Rare By Andy on Sunday, September 8, 2002 | This is slightly off topic from what we usually report but if current reoccurring rumours are true (and there's evidence that they are) then Nintendo second party Rare are leaving Nintendo for Microsoft due to their bosses retiring for some quick cash. If the rumours are true then the only way this deal can be stopped is if Nintendo offer to buy Rare instead, in which case Rare would have to accept Nintendo's offer. But why would Nintendo want to pay all that money to keep Rare? Rare are not a very profitable company but they do make fantastic games.
I'm a huge fan of Rare's games and I even ran a Rare fansite a few years back, so Rare leaving Nintendo would be a big loss for me. I encourage all of our readers to show Nintendo we DO care if Rare is no longer a Nintendo second party by signing this petition, for all the little it will do it's still better than nothing.

Nothing To Report By Andy on Friday, September 6, 2002 | Sorry about the huge lack of updates, but I want to report news on MS that hasn't already been reported on IGN or Planet Gamecube, that way you'll always have a reason to visit MS and we wont be eclipsed by them. Uh, unless we have nothing to report... like the last few days.
There's so many games coming out this month most fansites will be deserted, so I suggest you get your money ready for Starfox Adventures, Timesplitters 2, Animal Crossing, Battlefield 1942 and all the other big name games released soon.
