Happy Birthday Shrine!
By Andy on Wednesday, April 30, 2003
Miyamoto Shrine has been open for a whole year, and what a year it's been. Click here to read our small birthday feature. A big thankyou to all you readers for your support! Without readers a website is just wasted space.

Impressive US Zelda Sales
By Max on Tuesday, April 29, 2003
The March 2003 NPD Video Game Sales Data was today released and it shows some extremely strong numbers for Zelda: The Wind Waker in the US. In one month, it's already managed to sell 826,352 units, meaning it's selling noticably faster than Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime or even Super Smash Brothers Melee managed to, despite being released during one of the slowest periods of the year.

Indeed, the top 3 biggest selling games of the last month were all Nintendo titles, with Pokemon Ruby at No.2 (652,595)and Pokemon Saphhire at No.3 (585,098).

Nintendo has announced the date and time of this years E3 press conference. The hour long presentation will begin on Tuesday, May 13 at 11:30am, US/Pacific time, making them the last of the big three to show their wares. If you live elsewhere, be sure to head on over to Time Zone Converter to find out the time where you are, so you don't miss it.

Actually Working
By Andy on Sunday, April 27, 2003
I've edited the game indexes slightly so that they look a bit smarter, I've also added the Wario Ware game page. Look out for my Wario Ware review soon, it's a really refreshing, addictive game.

Shrine Slider
By Max on Saturday, April 26, 2003
It's Saturday night and we've finally updated the Shrine Jukebox with some fresh music. You've heard our N64 and Snes tunes, but now it's all about the GameCube with Mario Sunshine, Animal Crossing and the vastly under-rated Luigi's Mansion being added to the roster. We'll be adding more tunes next Saturday, so feel free to e-mail me any requests you may have.

Miyamoto Talks Zelda
By Max on Wednesday, April 23, 2003
With the European release of The Wind Waker getting closer, Swedish games magazine Superplay (Not to be confused with the classic UK Snes mag) caught up with Miyamoto to discuss the past, present and future of The Legend of Zelda. Go here for the transcript!

The New Editor
By Max on Wednesday, April 23, 2003
Hello readers! Regular Shrine devotees may have noticed that the site's been moving rather slowly during recent months, so I've been called in by my good friend Andy to help him kick the site into action as we lead up to E3, where we'll be keeping you updated through these exciting times.

I worked as the UK editor of the late and great Tendo Box a couple of years ago, later moving on to Editor in Chief of Cloudchaser Nintendo, before we got submerged into XenGamers. Since then I've been sorting out some issues in my life and playing a lot of videogames. Suffice to say, I'm happy to be writing again. And what better subject to write about than Mr Miyamoto and his games that have kept me entertained during the last 15 years or so? I hope you'll enjoy reading my articles as much as I enjoy writing them.

Mario Kart!
By Andy on Wednesday, April 23, 2003
I'm a little against all this pre-E3 content that's starting to leak out as once the whole show rolls around we wont have anything new to see. But, who cares? Mario Kart looks great! Click here to see the screens at Nintendo's official site and click here for some lovely new Pikmin 2 screens. Both game pages have been updated accordingly.

A-OK
By Andy on Sunday, April 20, 2003
Thankyou to everyone who sent in staff apps but I've found our editor and it's a good friend of mine who I'm sure will do a fantastic job. There'll be more on that tommorrow. Things seem to be getting back to normal now, with E3 less than a month away there's going to be alot for us to write about and although none of us are going this year we're going to have some great coverage for you. Keep checking the shrine!

Staff Needed
By Andy on Monday, April 14, 2003
As you can see the updates are severely lacking at the moment, both Carl and I are very busy with daily life stuff and we're in need of a new editor for Miyamoto Shrine. We're looking for someone with a very good knowledge and understanding of Nintendo, someone with enthusiasm and good writing skills. The new editor will be required to update the site with news (not IGN cut 'n paste jobs) and write the occasional review, preview or editorial. If you're interested please e-mail me here, we'll be glad to hear from you!
